Psychotherapy
Compassionate, client-centered care that honors the whole person- mind, body, & spirit
At Promised Hope, we believe true healing encompasses the mind, body, and spirit. Our psychotherapy services offer a safe and supportive space for individuals to process emotional challenges, build resilience, and explore meaningful solutions. Whether you’re navigating stress, relationship struggles, or seeking clarity and peace, we’re here to walk with you.
What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy, also known as talk therapy, is a collaborative process focused on improving mental and emotional well-being through guided conversation. We use supportive techniques to help you gain insight into your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—and empower you to make meaningful changes that support your overall health.
We currently offer supportive and solution-focused sessions. Our therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Person-Centered Therapy.

How It Works
Psychotherapy at Promised Hope is a collaborative, evidence-informed process designed to support your emotional well-being. Sessions are personalized to your needs and may include talk therapy, coping strategies, and therapeutic techniques that support your mental health goals.
Optional Faith Integration
At Promised Hope, we honor each individual’s beliefs and values. While our core approach to psychotherapy is evidence-based and client-centered, we also offer an optional faith integration component for those who wish to explore spiritual perspectives alongside their therapeutic work. This element is always:
-
Client-Led: You decide if and when you’d like to incorporate faith-based concepts—there is no pressure or expectation.
-
Respectful: We welcome conversations about your spiritual journey, beliefs, or questions, without judgment.
-
Flexible: Faith integration can take many forms—scriptural reflections, prayerful practices, or discussion of how faith influences coping strategies—and is tailored to your comfort level.
How It Works
-
Completely Voluntary: Faith integration is not mentioned unless you suggest this.
-
Pace & Preference: You guide the depth and frequency of any faith-related discussions.
-
Collaboration & Referrals: If at any point you wish to talk with a trusted pastoral counselor or spiritual mentor, we’ll support you in finding the right referral.
Currently, psychotherapy is provided by Janie Ugwuegbu, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner offering supportive therapy with the option for faith-based integration.
Trusted referral sources are also provided to help clients connect with additional specialized support as needed.
